If you go to our local bookstores, you can hardly find a copy of John Paul II's Theology of the Body. But check the internet and you will find out that in the US a host of books have already been published on this subject. In fact, in the US, many parishes have already established study groups to reflect more deeply of the Holy Father's enriching and refreshing reflections on marriage, human sexuality and the family. To put it in Tagalog: huli na naman tayo dito sa bansa natin, despite the fact that we are a catholic nation and we profess how much we love JP2. It has been more than 20 years now since John Paul II started presenting to the world his Theology of the Body. More than 20 years now! Huli na nga tayo dito sa Pilipinas.
To remedy this situation and with the hope of bringing the Pope's reflection to the awareness of catholoics in our country, I have decided to come out with a 4-part series of reader-friendly books that are designed to give Filipino readers a good idea of the Pope's Theology of the Body. It's about time that we reflect on the Pope's beautiful and insighful reflections with the hope of enriching and fostering catholic marriages and families here in our country.
I have already published the first two books, namely: Book One entitled The Body in Creation (dealing on the first cycle of the Pope's reflections, and Book Two entitled The Body: Fallen yet Redeemed covering the 2nd cycle of JP2's eflections. Book One costs P100.00 and Book Two sells for P110.00. These prices are much lower compared to the prices of imported books on the Theology of the Body. Next month, God willing, I hope to come out with Book Three entitled: The Resurrection of the Body, Celibacy and Marriage.
If you want to get your copy of these books, just call 821-44-37 or 822-01-86 and place your order. Or you can go to outlets of the Catholic Book Center or some outlets of St. Paul's Bookstore.
