I have recently published two books on John Paul II's Theology of the Body: Book One, The Body in Creation, and Book Two, The Body: Fallen yet Redeemed. As far as I know, these are the first two books that have been locally published and printed here in the Philippines. My aim in publishing these books is to help our Filipino readers get easy access to the enriching thoughts of John Paul II on marriage, sex and family. Most of the books published on this subject are not yet available here locally. Besides, they very expensive. I feel that many of us Filipinos have been subjected to a distorted view of sex, especially our young people and it is imperative that we get to know the Christian meaning of these realities.
Just ponder this for a while: the conception of a new human being, the birth of a new person, passes through human sexuality. In other words, sex is so intimately connected with life, or vice versa, life is so intimately connected to sex. This tells us something very important: if we want to live our lives in a meaningful way, then we cannot just tinker with the God-given purpose of sex. And this is precisely what John Paul II struggles to remind us of in his Theology of the Body. TOB is not just about sex, it is ultimately about the ultimate meaning of life.
My books are available in all outlets of Catholic Book Center and in some outselts of St. Paul's Bookstore. Otherwise, if you want to get a copy, you may call 8214437 and place your order.
N.B. These two books have recently been selected as one of the finalists for a major catholic award.
